Red Castle Mountain

Labor Day weekend Bob and I backpacked in to the Red Castle area of the Uinta's w/pals Mr. Jones and Ms. Frogley. It was amazing and Beautiful! So clean and hardly anyone else around. We had a great time exploring when it wasn't raining. As I said to my friends: You haven't experienced the Uinta's unless you get soaked in a thunderstorm on top of a mountain. (Boy Scout style) And we did!

Euro's take a lift half way up the hike. We, Poor Americans hiked the 3000 feet from the Valley to the lake. Thanks goodness there was three places to pick up coffee and food along the way! Love the French ways!

Cirque of the Towers

This was our little home for a few days up in the Cirque. The view was spectacular.

WolfsHead Traffic Jam

We seemed to have picked the day that everyone else had to do this traverse. The day before and after we did it, we saw no climbers on it. Just our luck! We ended up passing all these parties thanks to Bob's speed climbing obsession.

Wolf's Head Ridge

This cool route traverses inbetween and along granite towers that make up Wolf's Head.

Pingora Summit

This was a really fun climb with a beautiful view at the top.

Deep Lake

This was such a amazing lake. It is so obvious that this valley was glaciated at one time. Deep lake is cool because it covers a granite bowl and cascades down the granite valley into clear lake at the bottom of the valley.

Our dear Lance became a minister so he could marry us. I put him in charge of the ceremony. I think he was more nervous than Bob and I. But as always he went all out pulled off the best wedding ever!

Welcome to Sayulita

Bob's sis Jill invited us to Sayulita, Mexico for a few days. She spent two weeks chillin in the sweet, quiet beach town. I loved the dirt roads, good cheap food, friendly free roaming dogs, and of course warm ocean water w/gentle rolling waves.

Sayulita Mexico

This was the town cemetery. It was beautiful. Lots of unique stones and statues. People left tequila bottles and plastic flowers on their loved ones graves.

Casita Jacobo

This was the lovely porch and view we woke up to every morning. I loved the casita! It was totally open to the outdoors.

Coco Loco!

We wanted to drink out of a coconut. We found this woman who took the coconut and chopped off the top w/a machetti knife and poured some liquor in w/the coconut juice. It's really called a coco loco. It didn't taste that great or get us that drunk, but it looked cool.

We passed this house to and from town from our Casita. The people live so simply here. It must take days for laundry to dry, kus our towels and swimsuits never did while we were there.

Local Surfer

There were these cute surfer kids that would run around town barefoot/bleached hair and only wearing swim trunks. They would be in the archade dancing one minute then skimboarding the next. Bob took a ton of pictures of them playing in the water and showed them later. They were so excited, they thanked him.

Local ways!

I love that people in Mexico are so real. They just chill on buckets and drink beer in front of the liquor store. It was such a great town. Real small, no ATM so what cash you bring in is all you got. We had to budget our money, but it was easy to do kus everything was cheap.

Pedro the Peddler

This guy was awesome! He was trying to sell his sand art to teenage girls who were trying to ignore him. Why won't you buy Pedros paintings? He need to buy a shirt, or does he?
