Since the weather was rainy all weekend we kept changing our plans. We ended hiking up the Y-Not couloir. This is me looking tough in crampons.

Bob's excited for skiing. He taught himself last year. He's spent the last few weekends skiing in the cottonwood canyons. We hiked Brighton the weekend before it opened.

Mexico City

I went to Mexico City with my friend Ashlee. It was really cool. We went to the Frida Kahlo Museum and the Metropolitan Cathedral in the Zocalo. Then ventured out to the Pyramids of
Teotihuacan. Thanks to Ashlees amazing spanish speaking and my map reading skills, we got around easily on the metro, jammin out to classic rock in spanish, made it back from the ruins, ended up with every vegetable dish on the menu, and befriended cab drivers and the hotel's lions.

The Golden Hour

Saturday Bob's parents came up and helped us put a roof on the garage. If we have another big winter we were worried our old one might cave. Then we went on a hike up the canyon. The light at sunset was golden through the trees.

Today we went biking around snowbasin. It was muddy but really fun riding through the colored trees. Biking is the only thing that wears Meg out. Unfortunately, she is ready to go the next day.

European Vacation in the Alps

We made it to Europe! We made a tour of the Alps in France, Italy, and Switzerland by trains, buses, and even had to walk across the border of Italy to Swissland at a mountain pass. It was a fun adventure, with beautiful mountains, interesting cultures, and a abundance of fabulous coffee and pastries!

We got a taste of Chicago!

We went to Chicago to visit Bob's sister Merna and her Family. We spent all day Saturday riding down the river, walking around Navy Pier, walked through the crowded festival, ate Chicago Pizza and even made it to the top of the John Hancock building. It was quite a day!

I'm Back!

I turned the big 30! Jason and Sarra were there to celebrate and also got engaged that weekend.

We haven't had the internet since October so I haven't posted for a while. Life's been pretty busy since we moved to OTown. Bob got another promotion at work. He is now the Visuals Editor at the newspaper! He's big time now! He is a little stressed about it, but likes being back with his people in the photo dept.

I am still workin at the airport. We've been on a few trips to visit friends, but I have been more interested in gardening. For my Bday I told Bob all I wanted was for him to build me a garden bed. So I have planted strawberries, salad greens, peas, tomatos, onions, and a few different peppers. I'll have to see how much room they take up. But it is fun to see the little lettuce and pea plants pop out of the ground. I know I am a total geek!

Red Castle Mountain

Labor Day weekend Bob and I backpacked in to the Red Castle area of the Uinta's w/pals Mr. Jones and Ms. Frogley. It was amazing and Beautiful! So clean and hardly anyone else around. We had a great time exploring when it wasn't raining. As I said to my friends: You haven't experienced the Uinta's unless you get soaked in a thunderstorm on top of a mountain. (Boy Scout style) And we did!

This is a 1800 sq ft., 2 bedrooms one bath upstairs, 1 bed and bathroom downstairs. The yard is not to big or small for Meg & has lots of mature trees and a two car garage for Bob. Hardwood floors and a fireplace, We are pretty stoked!

Bob and I made an offer on a cute house in O Town. They have already counter offered and we are going to accept. If all goes well, we will be closing on Sept. 13th. Here are some pics that Bob took of it.

Bob has been working as a staff photographer for the Standard for almost 6 years now. He has been ready for a change and it finally came last week when the Outdoor Writer position opened at his job,Bob applied for the position and got it!

He is at the same paper, but now he just gets to shoot and write stories on his favorite interest: the outdoors. He is now in charge of the Explore section that he has been contributing so much in the last few years.

He has always wanted to be a writer. That is what he started pursuing at the college newspaper and got into photography by default, one day when the editor asked him to take pictures. He got interested and became the rad photographer he is today.

He is really excited to be able to do his own thing and already has tons of ideas for articles. Meg and I are very proud that he is able to progress and make a living doing something he loves!

Little Cottonwood Pfeifferhorn Ascent

Bob and I had Monday off together, so we decided to do a long hike. We are going to the Tetons in July, so I need as much hiking as I can get to be in shape for it, since I no longer hike to work everyday. We climbed the North Ridge of the Pfeifferhorn which is a classic Little Cottonwood 5.5 climb. Most of it was just fun scrambling. It was a little hazy, we could see smoke billowing off of the west side of Utah Lake.

Arts Festival

Our dear friend Lance came into town to visit for the weekend. We went to the Arts Festival Saturday. We saw some cool art and an amazing reggae band called Afro Omega. Bob"s deflowering of Yosemite's Half Dome

After 3 years of getting snowed out of our trips to Yosemite, Bob finally got lucky! He didn't sleep for a week before and has been obsessing for months. He convinced his editor to let him do a story on it for work, so the pressure was on. Three days out he called and they had got rained out of their first attempt after hiking 81/2 miles & 4000 ft they got cold/soaked and had to go back to dryout. Though they were fatigued from the first attempt, they went back again to successfully finish 33hours later dehydrated, starving, and bloody beat. I'm so proud! Now we can get on with life! j/k
There will be more to come when Bob gets his video and slide shows together. But here are a few pics I picked out.

JTree

We went to Cali for few days to climb in Jtree and go to Coachelle. We flew into LA and hung out with our man the Rev Mitsui! We then headed to Jtree to climb. Lance and Rachel were supposed to show up Saturday afternoon. As we waited it was getting kind of late, so we climbed Parking Lot Rock, so we could see them if they came. As we got to the top we were greeting by a kid was also waiting for friends. Since his friends were a no show, he shared a few beers with us. We never ended up going to the concert, and our friends didn't show up till 3am sunday morning. But as always we had a great time climbing and camping in the amazing granite desert.

This last weekend was our 1 year anniversary. It is weird to think it was a year ago we were celebrating the legalization of our love in the beautiful desert. It was such a great day..Our best friend Rev. Mitsui performed the ceremony in an alcove high above the winding river of Labyrinth Canyon. What a special day. We jammed, we ate, we swam, and we drank the afternoon away. Such good energy was present.....until the evil misquito swarm!!! AHHHH! Still lOve my man Bob!
